Responsibilities
- •Manage and maintain overall DOT/FMCSA safety compliance. Maintain and review Driver Qualification Files (DQF). Monitor MVRs, CDL status, medical cards, and driver qualifications. Review new driver applications from a safety and compliance perspective. Coordinate with HR on driver approval, onboarding, and drug testing. Monitor and review CSA scores, BASICs, roadside inspections, and violations. Review inspection reports and ensure violations are properly addressed. Track accidents, incidents, claims, and preventable accidents. Conduct accident investigations and maintain complete accident files. Follow up on corrective actions after accidents, inspections, and violations. Communicate safety violations and concerns directly with drivers. Conduct driver safety coaching and corrective-action meetings when necessary. Monitor speeding, unsafe driving, harsh braking, and other safety events through available systems. Ensure required drug & alcohol compliance and Clearinghouse requirements are maintained. Monitor truck and trailer safety inspection compliance and coordinate with Fleet when defects are identified. Review PTI and inspection-related issues from a safety perspective. Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports for management. Identify high-risk drivers and recommend appropriate corrective action. Maintain accurate and organized safety documentation. Assist with DOT audits, FMCSA reviews, and roadside inspection preparation. Stay updated on changes to FMCSA/DOT regulations. Work closely with HR, Fleet, Dispatch, HOS Monitoring, Drivers, and Management.
