Responsibilities
- •Process and record daily financial transactions related to freight, driver settlements, and carrier/broker payments
- •Prepare and issue customer/broker invoices in a timely manner
- •Reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to loads, fuel, tolls, and maintenance costs
- •Track and follow up on outstanding/overdue invoices
- •Maintain accurate financial records for audits and month-end close
- •Assist with driver settlement calculations and payroll-adjacent processing
- •Prepare regular reports on cash flow, outstanding balances, and logistics-related expenses
- •Coordinate with dispatch, fleet, and finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- •Support the Finance Manager with budgeting and cost-tracking related to transportation operations
Required Skills
Solid understanding of bookkeeping/accounting principles (AP/AR, reconciliation, month-end close)Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, ERP systems, or similar)Strong Excel skills (formulas, reporting, data tracking)Familiarity with logistics/trucking-specific documentation (BOLs, PODs, rate confirmations, settlements) is a strong plusHigh attention to detail and accuracy with numbersStrong organizational skills — able to manage multiple invoices/accounts at onceGood communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, brokers, and carriers on billing issuesBasic knowledge of freight/trucking industry terminology is a plus but not always required
