Responsibilities
- •Monitor and evaluate the safety and overall performance of each driver
- •Conduct regular driver safety audits covering driving behavior, compliance, documentation, violations, and incident history
- •Review telematics, dash cameras, safety alerts, speeding, harsh braking, acceleration, HOS violations, and other available safety data
- •Identify high-risk drivers and take timely corrective action
- •Provide driver coaching, warnings, retraining, and other corrective measures when required
- •Investigate accidents, preventable accidents, near misses, complaints, and serious safety violations.
- •Monitor driver compliance with company safety policies and applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations
- •Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver safety records
- •Track driver safety scores, violations, incidents, and corrective actions
- •Prepare regular safety and driver-performance reports for management
- •Work closely with Dispatch, Safety, Fleet, and HR departments to improve driver accountability.
- •Identify recurring safety issues and recommend preventive measures.
- •Follow up with drivers after coaching or corrective actions to ensure improvement
- •Have the authority, within company policy and HR procedures, to recommend or initiate removing unsafe drivers from duty.
- •Participate in decisions regarding driver suspension, retraining, or termination when necessary.
- •Continuously improve the company's driver safety monitoring and accident-prevention processes
Required Skills
2+ years of experience in US trucking/fleet safety preferredProven experience in driver safety monitoring and performance management.Experience reviewing driver safety data and identifying high-risk behaviorExperience with ELD/HOS systems, telematics, dash cameras, and safety monitoring platforms.Experience investigating accidents and determining contributing factors.Understanding of driver qualification, violations, safety records, and compliance documentation.Experience conducting driver coaching and corrective-action processes.Ability to work with large amounts of driver and safety data.Strong English communication skills.Ability to communicate firmly and professionally with driversStrong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and take responsibility for safety decisionsStrong organizational and reporting skills.
