Update Specialist

Responsibilities

• • Maintain constant communication with truck drivers to verify their current physical locations, check their Electronic Logging Device (ELD) hours, and calculate Estimated Times of Arrival (ETAs).
• • Monitor active shipments in real-time from the exact moment of pickup, through transit lanes, until the final delivery confirmation is issued.
• • Log precise real-time load statuses, delays, and driver notes into the company’s internal Transportation Management System (TMS).
• • Update external customer and broker-specific tracking portals (such as Macropoint, Project44, or specialized client websites) to prevent communication gaps.
• •Notify brokers, shippers, and customers immediately via phone or email regarding weather delays, traffic bottlenecks, or mechanical breakdowns.
• • Serve as the central point of contact connecting the driver, the internal dispatch unit, and the customer service department.
• •Flag potential delivery or pickup delays early and work directly with dispatchers to execute reroutes or solve logistical problems.
• •Coordinate quick operational support if a driver encounters problems at a receiver facility or shipping dock (e.g., lumper fees, long detention times, wrong delivery addresses).
• • Collect, verify, and upload critical digital freight documents immediately after delivery—such as Bills of Lading (BOL), Proofs of Delivery (POD), and lumper receipts—enabling the billing team to invoice quickly.
